John Key was asked to name the leader of ISIL (Abu bakr al-Baghdadi)). He answered ‘Al-Jabiri something… but whatever’.

John Key was left red-faced when a reporter asked him today for the name of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. His gaffe was met with fierce criticism, with many suggesting this should be basic knowledge for a Prime Minister who’s just sent off New Zealand men and women to fight Baghdadi’s terrorist orginsation.

But the gaffe has also been the scene of much hilarity, sending Twitter into an absolute frenzy. One Wikipedia troll took things to the next level, editing Wikipedia for a short time to include Key’s gaffe:
