Bennett Morgan on Nobody Likes a Tory – NZ
Anybody with me?
Today the news came out that New Zealand is still $1.5 Billion dollars in deficit (meaning we pay about $20 a second to debt interest). However Bill English, now *officially* New Zealand’s worst finance minister on record is promising a return to surplus by year’s end.
You know what that means; more cuts to health, more cuts to education, more cuts to pensions and possibility of further state asset sales (because that worked out wonderfully) and GST increases.
All things that hurt the poor – again.
For once, can’t those who created the problem we find ourselves in do their bit in getting us back into surplus?
