IMAGE: Canadian Government labels TPPA-opposers “radical”.

Check out this piece of Canadian government propaganda, observe it closely.

It is the unusually secretive TPPA negotiators being labeled ‘radicals’ – but the people fighting for the texts to be released. According to Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) social media, the New Democratic Party (the main centre-left opposition) are “radicals” and “anti-trade”. Has it occurred to them that these protesters are not anti-trade, but anti-anti-democracy?

Democracy is lost on many in the countries negotiating in the TPPA. Even in our election year here in New Zealand, the media has failed to recognise it as an election issue as a deal edges nearer in Ottawa.

It is secrecy in the area of global trade that is new and “radical”, not democracy.
